New operations manager drives efficient print
Commercial and security print specialist, Smith & Ouzman Ltd, welcomes Nick Buckfield, who has been appointed Operations Manager to head up the company’s manufacturing team.
Nick joins Smith & Ouzman with a wealth of knowledge and experience in commercial print. He started his career working for commercial print expert Wyndeham Grange where he climbed the ranks from Apprentice Computer Typesetter to Works Manager during his 24 years of service. Nick then joined Sterling Financial Print as Head of Production, where he was responsible for managing a team of five production managers and ensuring the cost-effective and efficient delivery of the company’s financial print services.
In his new role at Smith & Ouzman, Nick will be responsible for managing a team of 60 personnel within the company’s three manufacturing departments. As a certified Lean Manufacturing expert, Nick will be using his expertise in manufacturing advancement to drive three specific areas of the print business – training, efficiency and culture change.
Nick commented: “I’m delighted to join the team at Smith & Ouzman. I’m looking forward to adapting the knowledge I have gained working in commercial print and financial print and also using the modern business techniques I have acquired through training as a Lean expert to motivate the workforce and drive the operational efficiency of the business.”
