Smith & Ouzman has been the trusted provider for printing local currency for a number of transitional towns including Lewes in East Sussex.
S&O can design local currency notes with covert and overt security features similar to national currency including:
- watermarked paper with embedded fibres
- sequential serial numbering
- ultraviolet (UV) ink
- micro-text
- holographic foil
Notes can be designed in a number of different denominations
Typical Specification that can be applied to local currency:
- Artwork: Digital artwork can be supplied by the client or designed by Smith & Ouzman when we can incorporated specific security features within the artwork by our in-house origination experts
- Proofing: PDF colour proofs are supplied
- Paper: UV dull chemically sensitised CBS1 security paper with security watermark with invisible UV fluorescing blue and yellow fibres
- Print: 4 colour process and invisible UV fluorescing green and blue to both sides. UV fluorescing blue includes instant verification reaction feature using a special validation pen.
- Foil: Shaped cut out die with fragmentation, stamped tick valid hologram plus silver prismatic foil
- Embossing: Blind embossed denomination
- Numbering: Sequentially numbered on one diagonal position in denomination specific colour
- Security Information: A4 ID Sheets (Laminated) These are given to selected people by the client they explain & show the different security features incorporated in the notes
We can produce currency using either sheet and continuous production presses and can therefore produce small, medium or large quantities to suit your requirements.
